Now that the summer is slowly coming to an end in the US, it’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to properly manage your time once you’ve enrolled in an online course or program.
But one of the disadvantages to being an online student is that you will be required to spend the majority of your time sitting in front of a computer, which could lead to numerous distractions (like checking your Facebook) instead of finishing your assignments and/or studying for an exam.

University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU)
The Philippine House of Representatives has approved the final reading of House Bill 4883 that will declare the University of the Philippines Open University as the national Open University of the Philippines.
HB 4883, also known as the “Open Learning and Distance Education Act of 2011,” aims to expand access to quality education through open and distance learning. It also indicates pertinent requirements and policies regarding the offering of distance education programs.
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) are mandated to regulate distance education programs offered by post secondary schools or institutions. The University of the Philippines Open University, on the other hand, shall spearhead the development of new distance education programs and contribute to the body of knowledge on open learning and distance education through research projects.
The University of the Philippines Open University, established in 1995, is the fifth constituent university of the University of the Philippines System. By virtue of Republich 9500, University of the Philippines is recognized as the national university of the Philippines.
